Home AdvisorJumbangla Desk: Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has expressed regret over the beating of two people in Dhaka University and Jahangirnagar University on Wednesday night.

He urged the police not to take the law into their own hands but to hand over the criminals or suspects to the police.

He made this call at an exchange meeting at Dhaka Metropolitan Police office on Thursday.

The home advisor said, 'If a person commits a wrongdoing, he should be brought to justice. No one has the right to take the law into your hands. To be handed over to the law. Public awareness should be created so that innocent people are not harassed under any circumstances.'

Besides, requesting to name only those involved in the incident in the case, he said, 'My request to you is to name only those who are guilty. Do not name others. If others are named, it takes more time to investigate and care should be taken so that innocent people are not harassed.'

'I am also saying in the media, I have given in the paper that common people should not be harassed. "No one will be arrested without investigation," added the Home Affairs Adviser.

'I have given instructions to DB today, they will give the identity themselves, then they will catch it. Only criminals are supposed to be caught here. Common people will not be caught,' said Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
