The first of the two-match Test series against India begins today, Thursday (September 19). Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and decided to field in the first Test of the series.

After 20 Tests and 42 years at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, a captain won the toss and decided to field. Shanto said the reason for opting to field after winning the toss was to take advantage of the opening moisture of the wicket. The wicket looks like the pacers will have the upper hand in the first session. During the toss, Rohit Sharma also said that his first choice was fielding.
