In the first ODI of the series, Afghanistan crushed South Africa with excellent bowling. Wien Mulder's fifty somehow got the Proteas all out to reach three figures. Chasing an easy target, Afghanistan won by 6 wickets. Afghans tasted South Africa defeat for the first time in any version of cricket.
