Jumbangla Desk: BNP chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia has returned home after six days of treatment at the hospital on the decision of the medical board. He left Evercare Hospital in the capital at around 6:30 pm today and reached Gulshan's residence Feroza at 7:50 pm.

Leaders and activists of various organizations including Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal cordoned off Khaleda Zia's car and took it to Gulshan's house.

Earlier in the morning, BNP Chairperson's personal doctor, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain told the media that Madam's medical board met yesterday (Tuesday) night and reviewed various reports on her physical condition. The board decided that she can go home now.

His treatment will continue under the close observation of doctors at home.

Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on the night of September 12 due to sudden fever. He was under treatment in the hospital cabin. Professor Dr. An expert medical board headed by Sahabuddin Talukdar has been treating him for a long time.


79-year-old Khaleda Zia has been suffering from various complications including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, lung, kidney complications, arthritis, diabetes for a long time. Khaleda Zia, suffering from cirrhosis of the liver, underwent a blood vessel surgery on October 27 last year. Khaleda Zia's blood vessels were operated on by bringing three specialist doctors from the US. In addition, Khaleda Zia's heart was implanted with a pacemaker at Evercare Hospital on June 25.

Since Khaleda Zia was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis in November 2021, doctors have been advising her to be sent abroad for treatment. On behalf of his family and party, the then Awami League government made repeated requests. But Sheikh Hasina's government has ignored it every time. On March 25, 2020, Khaleda Zia's sentence was suspended and she was released on condition by the government's executive order. Since then, the suspension of his sentence has been extended every six months.

In such a situation, the day after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in the coup of the students, President Md. Khaleda Zia was released permanently on the orders of Sahabuddin. He got the good news from Evercare Hospital. Khaleda Zia returned home on August 21 after being under treatment in the hospital for one month and 12 days. Since then he was being treated at home. Efforts are also being made to take him abroad for better treatment. However, private doctors have informed that it is not possible to take him abroad as he is not in a condition to travel by plane.
