Jumbangla Desk: The World Bank will provide 2 billion dollars in assistance to Bangladesh in the current fiscal year, said Martin Riser, vice president of the organization's South Asia region. Martin Riser said, this is an important time for Bangladesh to do something. Especially great time to reform. We are able to assist. But the approval of the board is required before informing the amount of financial support.


He said, I can pay 2 billion dollars in several stages by next June. Some budget support and some will be given for support in the energy sector.

 

Finance advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said that budget support, food safety, post-flood issues were discussed in the meeting. They will help. The World Bank has also said it will provide funds and technical assistance.
