Jumbangla Desk: The incident of a youth being beaten to death on the campus of Dhaka University on the suspicion of being a thief has caused an uproar on the internet. On the same day, a former Chhatra League leader was beaten to death in Jahangirnagar University campus.
These two murders in the country's two largest universities are currently in the headlines.
After the fall of the fascist government, why extrajudicial killings will happen in the new country that was found in the popular uprising - this is the question of the netizens.
Meanwhile, Sarjis Alam, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, reacted to the DU incident on social media.
He commented in that Facebook post that no one has the right to be beaten to death even if he is a wrongdoer or a tainted accused.
Apart from this, the coordinator also reminded about the murder of Abra in Buet overnight torture in two incidents.
On Thursday (September 19), he wrote on his verified Facebook page, "Be it mentally unstable, a thief or a convicted felon, how can any person have the right or courage to beat someone to death like this? Brutal cruelty in the name of mob justice is never justified." Exemplary punishment needs to be set in taking the law into one's own hands.'
He also writes, 'Who reads where, what he does is not important Wrong is always wrong There can be no humanity in those whose chests do not tremble even once to beat a water creature to death.'
The coordinator writes, 'Seeing the body of the man, I have repeatedly remembered Buet's Abrar Let all wrongdoers be judged No innocent should be punished Once the wrongdoers are exonerated on some basis, it sets the precedent for many more wrongdoings to come No one should get that opportunity in new Bangladesh.
It should be noted that Shamim Ahmed, a former student of Jahangirnagar University (JAB) and former organizing secretary of the branch Chhatra League, was beaten up on Wednesday (September 18) afternoon.
When he was taken to Gonoshasthaya Samajbaise Medical College Hospital in Ashulia at around 10 pm, the doctor declared him dead. The deceased was a student of the 39th batch of Shamim University.
