Shaykh Ahmadullah wrote, 'Where one cannot be killed even if he steals, a mentally unbalanced patient is beaten to death on the suspicion of a thief. We speak against extrajudicial killings in various parts of the country. This heinous incident was done by the alleged students of the country's highest university. It cannot be accepted in any way.'

He also wrote, 'Whatever the identity of those involved in this anarchy, I want to see their arrest and exemplary punishment.'

Besides, Sheikh Ahmadullah wrote in the comment room, the trend of taking the law into one's hands must be stopped at any cost. It is very important for a healthy and stable society.

Meanwhile, Shahbag police station has arrested three people in connection with the beating death of Tofazzal on Thursday (September 19) afternoon. These students were detained from Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall with the help of the university administration.

Incidentally, on Wednesday (September 18) night, the students arrested a person named Tofajjal on suspicion of theft. Later, he was beaten several times in the guest room of the hall till 10 pm. At one stage, the students sat him in the canteen and fed him food. Then he was beaten again. At that time, when Tofajjal fell ill due to the beating, he was taken to the hospital in the middle of the night and the doctors on duty declared him dead.
