Science and Technology Desk: Finally, the long-awaited Apple iPhone 16, the most awaited smartphone of this year, has been launched. iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max have been introduced by the company under this base series. iPhone 16 Pro Max
This year the company added a new 'capture' button to their Pro model. This button will work like the shutter button of a DSLR. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max phones have thinner bezels and larger displays. A new 'Desert Titanium' gold color model has also been introduced to the Pro model.

iPhone 16 Pro (128GB model) starts at Rs 1,19,900 and iPhone 16 Pro Max (256GB model) starts at Rs 1,44,900.
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max pre-orders will start from September 13 and sales will start from September 20.
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max phone designs and colors
The design of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max is the same as last year's model. However, the phones are slightly taller and wider for the larger display of this Pro model. The iPhone 16 Pro phone's display has grown from 6.1-inches to 6.3-inches, and the Pro Max model's display has grown to 6.9-inches from 6.7-inches. However, the bezels on both the phones are extremely thin and the weight is almost the same.
Like the iPhone 15 Pro series, this new phone also has an action button, which takes the place of the mute switch on the left. On the other hand, a new 'Capture' button has been added to the right panel. The company has launched a new 'Desert Titanium' gold color for the iPhone 16 Pro series. This color was introduced last year in place of the Blue Titanium color. iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max phones have been launched in Desert Titanium, White Titanium, Black Titanium and Natural Titanium colors.
Apple Intelligence
This time the new iPhone has Apple Intelligence. That means AI feature will be available with iOS 18. All the features in the phone are in one place called “Apple Intelligence”. Now the phone will work on device and server processing AI system. Users can quickly write text based on gestures through it. There are also image generation, smart, reply, new Siri and priority notification options.
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max phone specifications
Display: The iPhone 16 Pro features a 6.3-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display with a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the iPhone 16 Pro Max phone has added a 6.9-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Processor: Both the Pro models in the series have the new A18 Pro Bionic chipset. This processor is faster than the A18 processor in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus phones. It features a second-generation 3nm design and features a 16-core neural engine that is faster and more efficient than the A17 Pro chip. It consumes 20% less power than the A17 Pro. This new hexacore chipset is built on 2x 3.89GHz and 4x 2.2GHz architecture.
Camera: The iPhone 16 Pro series features a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP primary fusion camera with F/1.78 aperture, a 12MP 5x telephoto lens and a 48MP ultra wide angle lens. Both these phones add a 12MP front camera. These phones are capable of recording 4K videos at a rate of 120fps. Besides, this series of phones has a new camera control button.
Battery: According to the company, the iPhone 16 Pro series will have the best battery life yet. Both these phones have USB Type C ports. Both the phones add MagSafe and Qi wireless charging technology. It will have wireless charging support up to 25W with 30W or more adapters. It also offers up to 33 hours of video playback. The battery details of the new iPhone series have not yet been disclosed by the company.
Software: Pro series phones will get iOS 18 with Apple Intelligence. iOS 18 OS adds Homescreen personalisation, Revamped Control Centre, Additions to Messages app, Call recording, Passwords app and Game Mode features. The company says Ambuja itself will be offered free upgrades to Apple Intelligence later this year.
