Entertainment Desk: The country is shaken by the death of a young man named Tofazzal who was thrashed on suspicion of being a thief in Dhaka University's (DU) Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall. Even the country's showbiz arena does not stop in condemning such killings. Filmmaker Mustafa Sarwar Faruqi spoke about this murder.
Farooqui
Not only the incident of DU's Tofajjal, mob justice and such incidents like gang beatings are increasing all over the country due to loopholes in the law. At the same time, one murder after another is happening in this process. Faruqi is angry in view of all these recent incidents. Called to stop 'bullying'.
Farooqui wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday (September 19) morning, "If you don't understand the meaning of freedom, then you will lose the taste of freedom." I used to hear from my father, after the independence of the country, Josh was coming in many people that he was everything. He himself is the accuser, himself the judge, himself the executioner. Have weapons in hand, or have mob power. So kill, kill. We know what the result was.
Faruqi also wrote, Well, after independence, there was a chaotic situation, even when the country was trapped in the tight grip of Awami League, didn't we kill a mother of Badda on suspicion of child abduction? Did not kill and burn a mentally unbalanced person after prayer in Rangpur?
He wrote, I was hoping that with this new freedom we would realize new responsibilities. If you give us the mercy thing will come. Even if a hundred mobs, two will stand. DU and Jahangirnagar were not four such people to stand up? It's a shame, a pain.
Finally Farooqui writes, everyone takes responsibility. Stop bullying. Stop giving fascists fao talking points, please. Let the discussion be on reform, on the trial of fascism.
Incidentally, a young man named Tofazzal Hossain was beaten to death in front of Dhaka University's Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall on Wednesday night on suspicion of being a thief. Tofajjal was a mentally unstable person. He later died at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital.
The young man was beaten to death in Dhabir Hall, which Sarjis Alam said
On the same day in the afternoon, former student of Jahangirnagar University and former leader of Chhatra League Shamim Ahmed alias Shamim Molla was beaten to death. Shamim Mollah Jabir was a 39th batch student and former Chhatra League activist. After beating Shamim, the students handed him over to the University Proctoral Body.
