Arrest of former 'influential DC' Moshiur of DB

Jumbangla Desk: Additional DIG of Police Moshiur Rahman has been arrested. He was arrested while fleeing the country through Chittagong's Shah Amanat International Airport.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Joint Commissioner Rabiul Hossain Bhuiyan confirmed this information.

He said eight murder cases have been registered against Moshiur. It is yet to be determined which will feature the arrest.

Moshiur Rahman was working as DB in Dhaka Metropolitan Police for a long time. He was the last Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Lalbagh Zone. He was also promoted to the post of Additional DIG.

Moshiur Rahman is receiving the award of the best deputy police commissioner (DC) in April 2022.

After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, Moshiur was also transferred as police super of Chittagong range DIG office along with 28 others on August 13.

The discussed DB officer Moshiur received the Rashtrapati Police Medal (PPM) in 2013, Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) in 2015 and Bangladesh Police Medal in 2019. He has been awarded 'IGP Exemplary Good Services Batch' four times for his performance. He also received Shuddhachar Award for the year 2022-23 on June 29.
