Jumbangla Desk: In Companyganj Dayar Bazar area of ​​Sylhet, 9 people were arrested and handed over to the police while collecting extortion from the workers in the identity of 'coordinator'. They were arrested on Wednesday night.

9 people arrested are - Abu Saeed Rabin (22), Shah Jahan Ahmad (29), Arif Hasan Zubair (27), Md. Rajan Mia (25), Didar Hossain (25), Salim Mia (25), Md. Rafiqul Islam (26), Nasir Mia (25) and Solaiman (27).

Noor Ahmed, the plaintiff in the case, said that on Wednesday night, we got news that the students were claiming to be 'coordinators' and demanding money from the workers. On receiving such news, we went to Sarzamin and found them chilling with the laborers at the boat wharf north of Dayar Bazar and chasing them. At that time they asked the workers to pay 500 to 1000 taka. Then we arrested the local people and handed them over to the police.
