70-year-old Abu Bakar was a cleaning worker at a mall in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. He did not take a day off from work out of 365 days of the year.

He was awarded by the Klang Royal City Council on Thursday. Describing himself as a common man in the interview, Abu Bakar said he sent a large portion of his earnings to his family in Bangladesh.

Currently, one of his daughters is a judge in Bangladesh, one is an engineer and the other is a doctor. For the success of his children, he has dedicated himself in exile. Her children have repaid her sacrifice, which is her great consolation. He is grateful to his children.

He said, 'After coming to Malaysia, I have not taken sick leave even once, Inshallah I am still strong.'


Speaking on Humans of Kuala Lumpur's Instagram page, Abu Bakar said he left his native Bangladesh 31 years ago when his fifth child was just six months old. Then did not go to the country. I miss my family and they miss me too. But my sacrifice is for them and for their future.'

Abu Bakr said about his return to the country in December of this year, "I will see my two grandsons for the first time as soon as I get to my family members after a long time."
