Tofajjal was laid to rest next to his parents and brother in Barguna

Jumbangla Desk: The body of Masud Kamal Tofazzal, who was killed in the thrashing of students at Dhaka University (DU), has been buried.

He was laid to rest next to the graves of his father, mother and brother in the family cemetery of Barguna Patharghata taluk village on Friday (September 20) morning.

His funeral was held at nine o'clock in the morning at the local madrasa grounds. After the funeral, the locals formed a human chain to demand justice for those involved in Tofazzal's murder.

The students of Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall arrested him last Wednesday on suspicion of being a thief. He was brutally beaten several times in the guest room of the hall till 10 pm. At one point, the students were also given food in the canteen.

Then he was beaten again. When Tofazzal fell ill, he was taken to the hospital in the middle of the night. Doctors there declared him dead.
