It has been found that the fishing trawler named FB Nahida Akhtar went for fishing in the sea from Alipur Ghat on September 16. For three days, I threw nets in different areas of the sea and did not get the desired fish. On Thursday, 102 maunds of fish were caught by throwing nets. The fish are brought to the Alipore Fisheries Landing Center and separated into three sizes.
However, due to the small size of the fish, the price is low. Fish weighing 600 grams to 800 grams were sold at Tk 25,000 per fish, 400 to 500 grams at Tk 20,000 per fish and small size fish at Tk 15,000. Other different species of fish were sold for three lakh rupees. In all, 19 lakh 20 thousand three hundred taka. The fish were originally caught on Thursday in a depth of 95 kilometers east-southeast of Kuakata.
Trawler sailor Abdur Rahim Bepari said, 5 days ago (September 16) 20 fishermen went to the sea to catch fish. In the beginning, I was not getting much fish, I was throwing the net in the sea with a lot of frustration. After going a little deeper in this way and casting the net, we caught a flock of hilsa in our net. After loading the trawler we returned to the wharf. If the size of the fish was big, it would sell at least 50 lakh rupees.
Abdul Mannan Bepari, the owner of FB Nahida Akhter Trawler, said that very few fish have been caught in the sea for many days. We were counting our losses. By selling this fish, I can recover some of the previous losses.
Kamal Bepari, a fish trader in Alipur, said that this trawler did not get much fish this season. Due to hostile weather, he was sitting at the ghat for ten consecutive days. The trawler went to sea last Monday when the weather was favorable for fishing. Alhamdulillah came to the ghat with 102 maunds of fish. Hope all fishermen in the sea get good fish.
Kalapara Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Apu Saha said that fishermen were staying at the port due to adverse weather conditions. Currently the weather is favorable for fishing. Hopefully every trawler will catch the desired hilsa fish.
