Iran ranks top two in cognitive science among Islamic countries

International Desk: According to the data of Web of Science, for a decade (from 2014 to 2023), Iran ranks first or second in most fields of cognitive science among Islamic countries.

 

The country ranks first in cognitive neuroscience, cognitive rehabilitation and cognitive linguistics with 387, 156 and 30 documents respectively.

Iran ranks second in cognitive psychology (124 documents), cognitive education (561), philosophy of mind (34), and cognitive assessment (898). Iran ranks best in cognitive neuroscience in the ranking. The country ranks 15th globally in this field of cognitive science.


Within the country, Tehran University of Medical Sciences ranks first to third in cognitive neuroscience with 73 documents, Tehran University with 39 documents and Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences with 32 documents.

The top three universities in the country in cognitive psychology are University of Tehran (10), Ferdowsi University in Mashhad (7) and Tabatabai University in Allam (6).
