Tarek
He said these things during a greeting program in honor of the Hindu community on the occasion of Janmashtami held at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan on Friday (September 20) afternoon. It was attended by hundreds of Hindu community members from all over the country.
BNP
He said, this Bangladesh is yours, mine, all of us. It is the policy of BNP that every citizen of Bangladesh will enjoy equal rights in all fields, this is the politics of BNP. I believe that our party BNP believes that religion belongs to each party and the state belongs to everyone. Religion belongs to everyone, everyone has the right to security.
Tariq Rahman said, your biggest religious festival will be Durga Puja next month. I greet you in advance on the occasion of this source. Inshallah everyone celebrate the festival safely and without fear.
He also said that the main mantra of our liberation war was equality, human dignity, social justice. The freedom fighters liberated Bangladesh at the cost of millions of lives to build an independent state and society in which every citizen can enjoy their religious, political, cultural and social rights without any hindrance. Who is Muslim, who is Hindu, who is Buddhist, who is Christian, we did not have any such question during the liberation war. Our independent Bangladesh has no reason to worry about minority or majority. We are Bangladeshis, the only identity of every citizen, whether Bengali or non-Bengali, non-believer or reformist, regardless of religion and caste.
Tariq Rahman said that because there was no rule of law in the last 15 years of fascist rule, SK Sinha had to suffer injustice despite being the Chief Justice. During the runaway dictatorship, the court and the mirror became one. Therefore, there is no alternative to establish the rule of law in the state and society to ensure the rights and security of every citizen, regardless of caste and religion, whether a minority or a majority party.
He also said, I think the right of every citizen to vote is an effective and powerful weapon to protect their rights. As long as every citizen of the country, irrespective of the Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian i.e. party, creed and caste, can not fearlessly cast his vote and elect the candidate of his choice as the representative of the people to establish a government accountable to the people, no citizen's safety and rights are secure.
Tariq Rahman said, we people of Bangladesh fought for independence, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians stood together. Now talking about the second freedom we have to protect it. Those who are plotting here must be united and defeated.
