Nayan, who was shot in the movement, lost the fight with death for 48 days

Jumbangla Desk: Nayan Mia (25) died after 48 days of fighting with death in the hospital bed after being shot during the anti-discrimination student movement.

Nayan died on Friday while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Nayan's body has been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy, said the SI of the Medical Police Outpost. Masood.

Nayan's father-in-law Ershadul Haque said, 'On the afternoon of August 4, Nayan was shot in the head as soon as he went to Banglamotor road a little in front of the Kanthal Bagan slope. Later he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with the help of locals. He died there at 7 am while undergoing treatment.'

Nayan used to work in a motorcycle garage in Kanthalbagan area. He lived with his wife and children in a rented house in that area. His village home is in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat; Father's name is Md. Lokman Hossain.

According to the official group of anti-discrimination student movement, the Janaza of Shaheed Nayan of mass uprising will be held at Central Shaheed Minar on Saturday at 3 pm.
