Jumbangla Desk: Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) picked up a former employee of the five-star Intercontinental Hotel in the capital and detained him for 14 hours. The incident happened on August 28. It was alleged that this was done by leading the agitation of the sacked workers.

Later the OC wrote a mobile phone number in the note and asked to go to the DB office and talk on that number. Even though we went to DB, he was not being released, three or four students from Dhaka University came and we were shouting there to release Nuruzzaman. At one point, Nuruzzaman was released after 6 pm when he went on Facebook Live.

When asked, researcher and human rights activist Rezaur Rahman Lenin said, according to Article 54, the law and order forces can detain anyone at any time.
