Jumbangla Desk: Jatiya Party Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader said that Bangladesh's governance system turns the government into a monster.

He said that the constitution of Bangladesh gives immense power to the head of government. In this, a popular political party after winning a good election has become a monster by misusing its power.

The Jatiya Party Chairman said these things in an exchange meeting with the leaders of the National Lawyers Federation in the auditorium of the Jatiya Party Chairman's office today at noon.

He said, we think that necessary reforms of the constitution should be done before good elections. Only then, good government can be obtained after good elections. We want the ownership of the country to be in the hands of common people. Common people can choose their representatives according to their wishes. The government will be accountable to the common people. If the government is running the country against the will of the people, then in the next election, the general public can change the government by exercising their right to vote again.

Jatiya Party Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader also said that Jatiya Party has always done politics according to the will of the people. The Jatiya Party has done politics for the people from the people's side.

He said that the 2014 elections were boycotted by the Jatiya Party. Then the Awami League government detained Pallibandhu Hussain Muhammad Ershad in the name of treatment. I announce the election boycott on the instructions of Hussain Muhammad Ershad. Around 270 Jatiya Party candidates withdrew from the election under my leadership. I myself did not participate in the 2014 election, did not go to the parliament. Awami League prevented our leader from doing his own politics with various pressures including Manzoo's murder case. Although BNP did not participate in the 2014 national elections, BNP participated in many local government elections including upazila elections. Again, almost all political parties including BNP participated in the 2018 elections. BNP MPs have expressed their opinion after almost four years in Parliament.

GM Quader said, we did not want to go to the 2024 elections. Everyone knows we were forced to go to the polls. The government divided the Jatiya Party into two. I was prevented from running the team for about four months by a scuttlebutt order. The government allowed another group to hold council under the identity of our party. Awami League unethically interfered in our politics and party management.
