Jumbangla Desk: BGB patrols conducted a special operation in the border area of Sunamganj's Doarabazar upazila and seized 885 kg of hilsa fish while being smuggled into India. The estimated market value of which is 22 lakh 12 thousand 500 taka.

On Saturday (September 21) around 3 o'clock in the morning, these hilsa fish were seized from the border area of Banglabazar under the responsibility of Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB).

Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) captain Lt. Col. Hafizur Rahman told the media that BGB's offensive activities and intelligence activities are continuing to protect border security and prevent smuggling as per the instructions of the higher headquarters. Following this, this shipment of hilsa was seized while being smuggled from Bangladesh to India. The seized hilsa fish will be deposited at the local customs and the auction process will be completed in the presence of the customs representative.
