Jumbangla Desk: A low pressure may develop in the Bay of Bengal area by next Monday. Due to its effect, the trend of rainfall may increase in the extended 5 days, said the Meteorological Department. This information is given in the weather forecast for the next 72 hours from 6 pm on Saturday (September 21).

According to Meteorologist Khondkar Hafizur Rahman, the extension of the axis of the monsoon is extending through India's Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam. An extension of it extends to the northern Bay of Bengal. Also Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay of Bengal. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country.

According to the Meteorological Department, mild to moderate heat wave is currently occurring over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions along with Sylhet and Jessore districts. In the next 24 hours it may subside from some places. Also during this time day temperature may drop slightly across the country and night temperature may remain almost unchanged.

Next Monday (September 23) light to moderate rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder may occur in most places of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and many places of Rangpur division till 6 pm. Along with this, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country during this time. Besides, day and night temperature may drop to zero to 1 degree across the country.

On the other hand, next Tuesday (September 24) light to moderate rain with gusty wind or thunder may occur in most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions till 6 pm. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country during this time. And during this time, day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. However, the Meteorological Department has also predicted that the trend of rainfall may increase in the extended 5 days.
