Jumbangla Desk: A young man named Nazmul Hossain Molla died while undergoing treatment in the hospital after being beaten up on suspicion of being a thief in Rajbari's Kalukhali Upazila. Today Saturday (September 21) he died while undergoing treatment at Kalukhali Upazila Health Complex.
The deceased Nazmul Hossain Molla (32) is the son of Ahmed Molla of Garakhola village of Faridpur Madhukhali upazila. Earlier on Saturday morning in Harinbaria village of Ratandia Union, he was beaten up and seriously injured on suspicion of being a thief.
Locals said that three persons were passing through the road of Harinbaria village early on Saturday. One of them had an electricity transmitter on his head. The locals chased the three. At that time, two escaped, but Nazmul was caught by the locals. Later, Nazmul was arrested and beaten up on suspicion of being a thief. He was rescued in serious condition and admitted to Kalukhali Upazila Health Complex.
Upazila Health Complex Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Israt Jahan Umman said that someone left a young man injured on the stairs of the hospital around 9:30 in the morning. He was rescued from there and admitted to the hospital. He could only say his name and address. He died while undergoing treatment around 1.30 pm. The matter has been reported to the police of Kalukhali police station.
Police station OC Mohammad Zahedur Rahman said that after receiving the information, the police visited the scene. A case has been filed in Kalukhali police station in this regard. The body of the deceased has been sent to Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
Earlier, two youths were beaten to death on the suspicion of thieves in Dhaka University and Khagrachari. A group of students beat up a young man named Tofajjal on suspicion of being a thief in Fazlul Haque Muslim (FH) Hall of Dhaka University.
