Jumbangla Desk: In Dakshin Aicha of Charfashan Upazila of Bhola, an NGO worker has been accused of stealing a family's cow because they could not pay the installments. This incident was done by an NGO worker named 'Dakshin Aicha Grameen Janunnaya Sanstha' in Daulatpur village of Charmanika Union of the upazila around 4 pm today.

When this incident came to light, the locals expressed their anger against the NGO and demanded the prosecution of the accused.

Kulsum Begum, wife of Kanchan Mistiri of Daulatpur village, said, 'Recently, I took a loan of 70,000 rupees from Dakshin Aicha Rural Public Development Organization. As an installment of that money, I give 13 installments of 2500 rupees a week. Due to the ongoing situation in the country, the NGO's field worker Hasina and manager Md. Shamim came to my house and snatched a cow from the cow shed. When I forbade them to take the cow at that time, they did not listen to me. I run a family by working in some kind of farm. I am telling them that I will pay the association's money, but they did not listen.'

He also said, 'While taking that cow, I told them that the cow has a 4-month-old baby. The child is now screaming for his mother. Yet they did not leave the cow.'

Local Union Parishad (UP) member Chalauddin Munshi said that the people of the NGO did an inhuman act by snatching a cow from the cowshed as the NGO could not pay the money. Legally it cannot. The NGO should be investigated and strict action should be taken.

Hasina Begum, a field worker of the organization, said, 'Kulsum Begum has made several installments with a loan of 70 thousand taka from the NGO. Then he is defaulting on the loan. Repeatedly ask to pay that money. I am bringing one of his cows for non-payment.'
