Jumbangla Desk: It has been reported that 4 people have died in one day due to lightning in Sylhet. 2 people died in Jaintapur upazila and 2 people in Kanighat upazila of the district on Saturday (September 21).

The deceased are Nahid Ahmad (13) son of Nurul Haque of Agfoud village of Jaintapur union, Abdul Mannan Monai (45) son of Kala Mia of Vitrikhel Babraband village of the same union, Masuk Uddin alias Kala Mia (40) son of Jamshed Ali of Keutihaur area of ​​Kanaighat upazila and North of Kanaighat municipality. Nur Uddin (60), son of Tota Mia of Dalirmathi (Khelurban) village.

It is known that Abdul Mannan was doing agricultural work in the field. He died on the field due to lightning around 12:30 noon that day. And Nahid went out of the house to go to his friend's house. He also died on the spot when he was struck by lightning while on the river bank. Meanwhile, Nur Uddin died due to lightning while fishing in the river near his house. At that time 30-40 other people went there with him. 4 other people who were there were injured in the lightning strike. His body will be buried around 9 pm. And Kala Mia was outside the house. On his way home he was struck by lightning. His body will be buried after Isha prayer.

Jaintapur police officer-in-charge (OC) confirmed the matter. Tajul Islam said that the bodies of the victims were preserved and handed over to the families without post-mortem after the family's request and the news that they died due to lightning was fully confirmed.

In this regard, Kanighat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahangir Hossain Sardar said, 'We have received the news of the death of two people due to lightning. However, I have not received the detailed information yet.'
