Jumbangla Desk: Popular Islamic commentator Shaikh Ahmadullah spoke about the Islamic way of life and punishing someone suspected of being a criminal.

In a related post on his verified Facebook page today (September 21), he wrote, We all know that punishing someone suspected of being a criminal is a crime. But Islam is one step ahead. In the way of life that Islam has given us, let alone punish someone based on suspicion, it is a crime to doubt someone without concrete evidence. No one can think ill of anyone without clear evidence, it is a human right in the eyes of Islam.

Sheikh Ahmadullah also wrote in the post, many injustices are born from doubt in this world. Suspicion is at the root of many crimes such as mass beatings, riots, fights, domestic disputes and torture. But no court in the world has the provision to punish someone because of suspicion. But Islam fourteen years ago made doubt wrong and blocked all wrongs caused by doubt.

Almighty Allah said, O believers, stay away from excessive speculation; Because speculation is a sin in some cases. (Surah Huzrat verse 12)

No court has the power to call it a crime if a woman is raped in the mind of a man. Because it is not possible to verify, Ahmadullah wrote, "There is no more painful, humiliating or sad matter for a woman." Still it is not a crime in any society.

But Islam calls it a heinous crime. Just like physical rape is a crime in Islam, rape is also a crime in fantasy. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has termed the evil eye and the evil imagination of the mind towards a mahram woman as adultery. (Bukhari-Muslim)

In the post, he wrote, all societies and civilizations talk about the physical safety of a woman but do not talk about not being raped in her mental world. Islam says that. This is the fundamental difference between God's law and man-made law. This is the beauty of Islamic Sharia. The human rights that could not be preserved in the laws created by man, are preserved in Islam.

At the end of the day, the overall welfare of mankind lies in the Shariah given by Allah. The sooner we realize this, the better for us.
