Jumbangla Desk: The cable theft of the new five stations of the Padma Rail Link Project, including the Mawa station in Munshiganj, has created a crisis due to the malfunctioning of the signal system. The train cannot stop at any platform as the line is fixed. It is disrupting train movement.

Even on Saturday (September 21) night, passengers were seen taking risks on that railway line.

Earlier on August 22, Mawa station cable was stolen. However, it has not been restored even in the last one month.

Eyewitnesses said that the signal of 5 stations under the CBI signal system of the Padma bridge rail link project was broken due to theft of cables. The computer is giving a red signal. So the train is not stopping at the right place at the stations. And with these modern stations of the high-speed railway line, the normal speed of train movement is also being disrupted.

It is known that the cables of Srinagar station and Nimtala station of Munshiganj were stolen earlier. Finally, on September 17, the cable was stolen at Madaripur's Shivchar station. Earlier, the cable of Padma station at Jajira end of Shariatpur of Padma Bridge was also stolen. Signal boxes were also damaged in the stations. The passengers are confused. They have to use temporary stairs to get up and down the platform.

A passenger named Ahsan Habib who got off the Madhumati train at Mawa station said, 'The train is stopping in the middle after leaving the platform. By doing this, we have to take the risk of getting off and on from the train. Besides, one has to climb down the iron ladder to get down from the train to the platform. It is difficult to think that in the modern age, you have to travel from the train like this.'

Another passenger named Moumita Begum said, 'How are the important items of the railway traffic signal stolen? The train stops in the middle and it is difficult for us to get on and off with the goods.'

Officials of the stations said that the line has been fixed manually to avoid the risk of accidents. This crisis started for a month and is still going on. Therefore, in addition to the start of repair work, 6 guards have been appointed at the stations for round-the-clock security. The authorities hope to solve the problem soon.

Hasanur Rahman, stationmaster of Mawa railway station, said, 'There is a problem due to theft of signaling wire. The trains are not running at their scheduled speed. Crossing takes more time. We hope to resolve this issue very soon. Four pairs of trains are now running across the Padma Bridge. Meanwhile, two pairs of trains are stopping at Mawa.'
