International Desk: The country's immigration department has arrested 93 illegal immigrants including Bangladeshis by raiding a night club in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Many enter Malaysia using work permits as construction workers but are later found working in entertainment centers.

This information came out in an operation conducted by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) at an entertainment center in Menzalara on Friday (September 20) night.

Deputy Director General of Immigration (Operations) Jafri Mbok Taha said 70 immigration officers from Putrajaya, Perak, Kelantan and Perlis took part in a simultaneous raid at two entertainment centers in Menzalara and Bukit Bintang at around 10pm on Friday.


93 foreigners were arrested in the operation, including 62 Thai women and one Thai man; 10 Vietnamese women, 11 Chinese immigrants; Five Bangladeshi men; Two men from Myanmar and one woman each from Laos and Mongolia.

He said initial inspection showed that most of the arrested foreigners had tourist visas but most of them had expired visas. All arrested foreigners have been taken to Putrajaya Immigration Office for documentation process.
