Fisheries and livestock advisor said, the decision to export hilsa is the Ministry of Commerce. The Ministry has given this permission at the special request of India. Our commitment remains the same.

He said these things in response to reporters' questions at a meeting at the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock at the secretariat on Sunday (September 22).

The Ministry of Commerce independently gave it (export approval), the adviser said. They gave this approval in view of a request. India had a special request on the occasion of Durga Puja. They did accordingly.

Hilsa fish has been exported from Bangladesh to India for several years on the occasion of Durga Puja.

But this time there was uncertainty about it. Fish and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhtar said that the hilsa fish will be exported after meeting the needs of the people of the country on August 11. When asked whether the export of hilsa will be stopped or not, he said on that day that the initiative will be taken so that the people of the country can get hilsa fish and reduce the price.
