Bangladesh has allowed the export of 3000 tons of hilsa to India on the occasion of Durga Puja this year. This was announced by the country's Ministry of Commerce in a circular on Saturday (September 21). If everything goes well, the people of West Bengal will be able to taste Padma Hilsa from September 26 or 27.

Syed Anwar Maqsood, general secretary of the Fish Importers Association of India told Jago News, like every year, I have appealed to the Bangladesh government to give us hilsa fish on the occasion of Puja. But we were getting a lot of disappointing news that hilsa may not come to West Bengal this year.

He said, I finally got the good news on Saturday, Bangladesh government will give 3000 metric tons of hilsa. The guidelines issued by the Bangladesh government have also been sent to us. If everything goes well, Bangladeshi hilsa fish will start arriving in West Bengal from September 26.

Anwar Maksud said that nothing has been informed about how long Hilsa will be coming. Hilsa fishing in Bangladesh is generally closed from October 22. But this time I am too late. I still don't know anything about how long the Bangladesh government will give these three thousand tons of fish.

When asked how the price of hilsa from Bangladesh would be after it came to West Bengal, he said that despite his best efforts, he has not been able to bring the price of hilsa within a thousand rupees. Hopefully, during the puja, the price of one kilogram of hilsa in the wholesale market will be Rs. 1,500 to 1,600.

Asif Nazrul's old post about hilsa export to India is viral

The people of far Bengal are very happy because of the arrival of hilsa from Bangladesh during the puja season. Sheikh Mahmud, an employee of Howrah Fish Market, said, "We are very happy that Hilsa has come from Bangladesh." Hilsa is already less in Kolkata market, the price is higher. The price of hilsa in Bangladesh will actually decrease a little. Naturally, the people of Apar Bengal are happy about the arrival of Padma Hilsa.
