International Desk: The undisputed leader of the Muslim world is Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Wherever in the world someone from the Muslim Ummah is oppressed, he speaks for them. Before heading to the UN General Assembly, Erdoğan once again raised his voice for the Muslim Ummah.
A long-standing issue in the Middle East is an independent Palestinian state. The Palestinians who own the state are now stateless. Before heading to the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York, Erdogan reiterated his commitment to justice for the Palestinians. He also said that he will stand on the world stage and speak for the Palestinians.
According to Erdoğan, Türkiye stands firmly with the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom, dignity and justice. This issue should be resolved by the international community as a priority. And we must ensure that there is a just and lasting peace in this region.
The Gaza war, which has been going on for almost a year, shows no signs of stopping. In such a context, observers say, Erdoğan will try to get more support from the international community for Palestine by standing on the stage of the United Nations. He will also apply pressure to resolve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the West Bank.
