Own Correspondent, Gazipur: Former student of Jahangirnagar University (JAB) and former organizing secretary of JAB Chhatra League Shamim Mollah, accused in the murder case, Mahmudul Hasan Raihan has been arrested by the police from Gazipur.

He was arrested in a raid on Saturday night in Hotapara area of Gazipur. Ashulia police station OC Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed this information.
Raihan is the third accused in the 2020-21 academic year of the English department of the university.
OC Abu Bakar Siddique said that Raihan was arrested in Hotapara area of Gazipur with the help of information technology.
Last Wednesday night, Shamim was beaten up in the university and handed over to the police with serious injuries. Police took him to Savar Public Health Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Sudipta Shaheen, deputy registrar of the university's security wing, filed a case at the Ashulia police station on Thursday night against eight students and 20-25 unidentified accused.

The university administration temporarily expelled these eight students on Thursday night.
On Saturday, the university administration filed a case by adding the name of Saiful Islam Bhuiyan of the 2022-23 academic year of the pharmacy department, excluding the name of accused number four Zubair Ahmed.
In the new affidavit, the number one accused in the case, Ahsan Labib, the coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, was made the number 8 accused and the number 8 accused Mohammad Rajan Miah was made the number one accused.
