WhatsApp, one of the world's most popular messaging platforms, is getting new features. Artificial Intelligence (AI), one of the greatest inventions in technology, has been added to the app long ago. But this time to take its capabilities a step further, Meta is going to add a two-way voice chat feature for AI.

Reportedly, the voice mode will also include multiple voices of public figures, which will allow users to customize how they interact with the chatbot. Not only that, other voices collected from the US and the UK will also be integrated into it. Essentially Meta AI will be able to have a human-like conversation with voice mode users.

According to WABtainfour, public voice information has been spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.19.32. The feature is currently not visible, and as a result, those signed up to the Google Beta program will not be able to see it.

In the screenshot shared with the feature tracker, it can be seen that WhatsApp is planning to implement several voices for Meta AI. These voices are differentiated in pitch, tonality and pronunciation to provide a unique experience for users. This will likely be similar to ChatGPT's existing voice mode, which offers users four different voices.

According to the feature tracker, there are three voices with UK accents and two with US accents. Their gender, pitch, or regional accent are not discussed in detail. There are also supposed to be four voices for the masses. Although the names have not been revealed, it is said that they may be influencers or stars.

This is not a new move for WhatsApp parent company Meta. Last year the company launched several custom AI chatbots on Messenger based on influencers, stars and other notable personalities. The voice option is probably an extension of that project that could expand to AI voice mode.
