Jumbangla Desk: Abu Bakr Majumdar is one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement. During the Awami League government, the former Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Head of Intelligence Branch, Mohammad Haroon Or Rashid, has been exposed on Facebook.

Coordinator Abu Bakr Majumder

The Facebook status given by coordinator Abu Bakr Majumdar under the title 'After Arguing with Haroon' is exactly what it says:

Harun was eating at the rice hotel that Harun knew. On the second day of DB custody, I, Nahid bhai, Asif bhai were taken before him. Harun's behavior was extremely bad and belonged to the sub-editor category of the Chhatra League. He told us, I make leaders smaller, not leaders! Do not see, how I left Nurure! Nuru now cries on remand. No matter how he spoke, the three of us were talking very strongly. At one point he said to me, 'You camp'! I say, 'No I'm not camp!' He says again (slightly louder) 'No, you camp'. I repeat 'no (louder than him)'. He pointed to Asif Bhai, Nahid Bhai and said, 'Look, how he talks!'

While he was talking, I kept saying in a loud voice, 'My whole family participated in the liberation war, warriors camped in my house, I am a child of that big family.'

Abu Bakr Majumdar also wrote in the post, "As I shouted at him (Harun), he threw away the plate and signaled to an officer to take us away." The three of us were taken to three separate rooms. After 3 to 4 minutes of entering the room two men came and asked me to come to the door. They had jam hats (big black hats, covering up to the neck) and handcuffs. I understood that something bad is going to happen to show personality with Harun. As soon as he came to the door he put on the hat, then put on the handcuffs. It was difficult to breathe, the light of the world could not be seen, a terrible environment. He started walking left and right, repeatedly thought that he would take the side of the roof and throw it in this state! And I was asking, 'Are you taking Nahid brother and Asif brother too?'

They said, they do not know about this, their responsibility is only to take me. Nahid bhai, Asif bhai were very sick, I was afraid for them. Anyway, then in the elevator, again on foot, again on the stairs, and so on to a room. One thing that kept coming to mind was whether to kill me, because extrajudicial killings were commonplace under the Fascist regime. Then he took it to the room and turned it towards the wall, took off his hat and tied his eyes very tightly with a towel, and also tied his hands with a big towel. The hands are tied during the interruption in such a way that there is a towel covering most of the hand. Then the foal asks to turn around, to stand on one leg. The body did not have the balance to not sleep for 72 hours straight. I tried to stand but failed again and again.

Finally asked to stand up straight and started questioning. I could understand from their words that they know almost everything about us. He told me at the beginning, 'You are leading the organization of the whole country from June 9th to 30th, you want to grow the movement! Who is teaching you these? You are not too old! Where did you get the training?'

In reply, I say, 'I organize students, the member secretary of Dhaka University of Democratic Student Shakti, I have been working to organize people for a long time to set up the organization at the beginning and later for expansion, I have used that experience' then a little patch!

Then again, 'Why don't you come to the frontline? Do you think we do not know you? Where are you and what do you have all the information'. I keep quiet, then again 'Why don't you talk?' I say, 'I like working backstage.' Says again, 'Where were you when the fight happened on the 15th seventy-one?' I say, in front of the seventy-one hall. He says, you are the first to fight, leading the fight! I say, 'Chhatra League kills us, later we resist' Thus many questions are answered about July 15.

Then he asked, 'Who is your teacher?' I answer that I have no guru, I organize only for the national interest, and I am doing the agitation for the same reason. There are many more substitute questions and answers on this topic as well. Then again, 'Will you do a government job?' I may say, but I am interested in politics and academia. A lot of people try to mess with it.

Asking many more such questions (I will write all if I am alive), the last one says, the government has accepted all the demands on the quota, but what is the movement for now? I keep quiet, they chatter, scramble, still keep quiet. One said, Ore Jhula. I am still silent. Then he was taken to the next room, and his hands were hung up and tied. I say if I hit my back I will die, I have a problem with my left leg, my left leg will break. They don't say anything. At one point they hit me one after another with a thick stick on the buttocks, and I screamed, and they said, I will make a statement thanking the Prime Minister? I say, 'No'. It continues like this. In my school life, I was beaten a lot by teachers, sirs used canes, the nervous system automatically went into a protective role during beating, at least there was mental preparation. But here it is not, the eyes are closed, the hands are tied, as if suddenly a stick hit. It felt awful and the pain was excruciating.

Abu Bakr Majumdar also wrote in the post, I want water, he gave a sip (mouthful) of water from the bottle. The tongue and throat were dry as wood. After the beating, someone from the front said, Ore rest de. I took a big breath. And I was thinking, as much as I am afraid that I can bear it, not so much! In fact, who can't bear to be beaten! However, I was mentally preparing for the second beating.

Even though the hands were hanging above, the toes were placed on the floor to give a little weight. I was hung like this for about an hour or so after hitting the first round. And if I wanted water, he would give me a mouthful of water in the mouth of the bottle. That's how it was going, and I was mentally preparing for the second round. And I was thinking, what is the condition of Nahid brother and Asif brother! At that time I was comparatively stronger than them. However, at one point I had to take them to the washroom when I had a lot of urge to pee. After coming out of the washroom, he didn't hang me anymore, this time he let me sit on a chair. I lie down with my hands and eyes blindfolded, and wait for the second round.

When asked when the second round will start, the person in front said, he does not know, his sir is not present. The pain worsened when sitting from a normal hanging position, and walking was very difficult after opening from the hanging position. In this way, at one stage two people came and opened their hands but remained blindfolded. While walking, I found that I could not walk, at one point they put my two hands on their shoulders and took me to the room where I was kept with great difficulty. One of those who were in my room was saying, 'Look what they did to a healthy person, Allah will not forgive them!'

Hot conditions in New York

Incidentally, the former chief of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mohammad Haroon Or Rashid picked up six coordinators to suppress the quota movement. Not only that, he also forced confessions from them. Later, they were forced to release them in the face of the agitation.
