International Desk: In a 10-hour effort by 80 doctors, two sisters Shifa and Rifa, who were conjoined in the abdomen and chest, were separated through surgery. Dhaka Medical College Hospital authorities held a press conference on Monday and informed about the successful separation of the two children.

Professor Sahnoor said, "On June 14 of this month, Mahmuda contacted us about the two children who were attached to each other. On June 21, they were admitted to the hospital and examined. As per the decision of the medical board, they are asked to come after one month. After a month they were treated and asked to meet after another month.'
Dr. Sahnoor also said, 'After being surgically separated on September 7, the two sisters were put on ventilators in the ICU. On September 8, Rifa and Shifa were weaned off ventilators on September 9. Meanwhile Rifa was completely healthy but Shifa was sick. He developed heart problems. He was taken to Heart Foundation for treatment. Later Schiff's bile duct connection was opened and surgery was performed again. Shifa is currently in ICU.'
It is known that Shifa and Rifa's medical expenses were borne by Social Services Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Akiz Group, National Heart Foundation Authority, National Heart Institute, BSMMU, Bardem's Department of Transfusion Medicine, Department of Laboratory Medicine and an unnamed teacher and her parents. .
Dr. Sahnoor said, 'Sometimes neither of the two conjoined twins can be saved. Sometimes it is possible to save one person.'
