Jumbangla Desk: Bangladesh strongly protested the statement of Indian Union Home Minister Amit Shah that 'Bangladeshi infiltrators will be hanged upside down'.

The Foreign Ministry protested in a note handed over to the Deputy High Commissioner of India in Dhaka on Monday.

According to the press release of the ministry, the Union Home Minister of India made very 'indecent' comments about Bangladeshi citizens in a meeting in Jharkhand, India on Friday. The Ministry of External Affairs has expressed its anger and displeasure in a protest note handed over to the Deputy High Commissioner of India on his remarks. At the same time the Government of India is urged to advise its political leaders to desist from such offensive and unacceptable acts.

It is mentioned in the notification that such comments coming from a responsible position towards the citizens of the neighboring countries undermine the spirit of mutual respect and understanding between the two friendly countries.

In that meeting on Friday, Amit said that if the BJP forms the government in Jharkhand, every Bangladeshi infiltrator will be found and hanged upside down.

Amit Shah appealed to the people to help the BJP form the government in the eastern state of the country. He warned of strict action against Bangladeshi illegal infiltrators.
