Jumbangla Desk: A bus named Ujan Bhati Paribahan was set on fire by an agitated crowd after a woman was killed by a bus in Board Bazaar area of ​​Gazipur City Corporation. One person was injured in this incident.

The accident happened in front of the Clove Restaurant in Bord Bazar area of ​​Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on Monday (September 23) around 9 pm.

The names of the injured were not immediately available.


Locals said that a bus of Uzan Bhati Paribahan was going from Gazipur to Dhaka around 9:30 pm on Monday. When the bus reached Board Bazar, it crushed a woman. The woman was killed on the spot and another person was injured. Locals seized the bus and set it on fire. Later, the fire service reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The bus driver and his assistant fled after the incident.

Abdullah Al Mamun, OC (Investigation) of Gacha police station confirmed the matter and said that the bus was set on fire due to the death of a woman in a bus accident. This temporarily disrupted traffic on the road. At present, traffic on the road is normal. Efforts are underway to identify the woman. The bus driver and assistant fled after the accident. Necessary legal action will be taken in this regard.
