Jumbangla Desk: There has been an allegation that a young man named Wahab Bhuiyan was beaten to death while distributing blessings in a mosque in Itna Upazila of Kishoreganj. Two people have been arrested in this incident.

He died in Dhaka Medical College Hospital early on Sunday (September 22) while undergoing treatment. Earlier, the incident took place last Friday after Friday prayers.

According to the police, tension arose between the two parties when the news of Wahab Bhuiya's death spread on Sunday. Then army and police personnel went to the spot quickly and brought the situation under control. Army personnel searched the spot and arrested two people along with sharp weapons and batons used in the clash. Later the detainees were handed over to the concerned police station.

According to the locals, the police also said that there was an argument between the two parties over the distribution of blessings in the mosque after Friday prayers. At one stage, Wahab Bhuiyan was found alone on the street and was beaten and seriously injured. Later he was rescued in a coma and brought to Kishoreganj General Hospital first. Later sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He died there on Sunday while undergoing treatment.

Nikoli police station OC Zakir Rabbani said that two people have been arrested in this incident. The case is under process.
