Jumbangla Desk: Acting Chairman of BNP Tarek Rahman said that if BNP can come to power with people's mandate in future, then it will introduce family card. Through which food assistance will be given according to the needs of the people.

He said, 'If it is possible for us to work for the country with the support of the people of Bangladesh in the future as in the past, then as a political worker I want to do a job for the people of Bangladesh. My plan is…. We will count the number of families in Bangladesh. We will give one family card to each family from the state.'

Acting Chairman of BNP presented this plan by participating virtually in a public meeting at Kishoreganj Old Stadium on Monday (September 23) afternoon.

Financial assistance was given to several families of those who were martyred and injured in the student uprising.

Tariq Rahman said that a family card will be issued against the name of the mother or housewife and the program will initially start in rural areas and then gradually expand to urban areas. Under this card, each family will be provided with a certain amount of food items every month.

He said that this assistance will be provided so that every family can get relief and increase their family savings to some extent. I believe that if this continues for a few years, the people of rural families will be prosperous.

Tariq Rahman said that the main goal of BNP is to establish the political rights of the people and at the same time achieve the economic freedom of the people.

Acting chairman of BNP said, 'We want to make the people of Bangladesh economically independent.'

He emphasized on upholding the achievements achieved through mass upheaval by building the country according to the people's aspirations.

He said that although the dictator has been overthrown, some ghosts of the dictator still remain in the country.

He said, "Though the fall of the dictator, all the dangers are not over yet." There is still danger ahead. We have to be careful about this.'

Tarek said that the current interim government will take steps to establish the political rights of the people and fulfill the aspirations of the people, because the people have been struggling for these for the last 17 years.

He also called on the people to be vigilant during the work of establishing the political rights of the people through the interim government so that no situation is created in which the dictator can plot anew.

He said, 'The ghosts of dictators do not sit still, they continue their conspiracy. Every pro-democracy political party and every pro-democracy people must be careful now.'

This leader of BNP emphasized on the need of unity in building the country and nation.

He said, 'Only the government elected by the people is capable of such work. Because the elected government will have responsibility and accountability to the people.'

He said the dictatorial government tried to divide the nation to cling to power. But BNP does not want division but unity among nations.

Referring to the martyrs and those who sacrificed themselves in the struggle for suffrage, he said, 'When the people's government is established, their sacrifices will be duly appreciated.'

He further said, 'Today, if we want to honor the sacrifices of the martyrs and the victims, then we all have to be united, regardless of party affiliation. We have to unite for the sake of the country, for the sake of the people of the country.'

Tarek declared that he has no address (home) outside Bangladesh.

He said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia had said earlier that she has no address outside the country.

Tarek said, 'As the son of Khaleda Zia, I want to tell you today that I have no address outside Bangladesh. Bangladesh is my first address and Bangladesh is my last address. Therefore, all our efforts will continue for the welfare of the country and people.
