Saudi requests some people not to perform Hajj

Jumbangla Desk: Every year, Saudi Arabia gives new instructions for Haj pilgrims considering the environment and conditions. Following that, the Saudi government has given new instructions for Muslims who want to perform Hajj next year. The Riyadh administration requested some people not to come for Hajj.

The country's health ministry said people who are 65 years old or older, have serious illnesses — such as heart, kidney, respiratory problems, diabetes, low immunity, cancer, the very sick, pregnant women and children under the age of 12 can perform Hajj this year. And plans to perform Umrah should be dropped.

The country has said that only those who are healthy and physically fit should perform Hajj. Because next year Hajj will be held in the summer sun and heat. As the Hajj has to be walked for about 25 kilometers, the Ministry of Health has said that one should have that kind of physical ability.

About 1 thousand 300 people have died while performing Hajj this year. Most of whom died walking in extreme heat. Saudi Arabia experienced unusually high temperatures when the Hajj was held this year.

People who went for Hajj without permission had no place to rest after this long walk. Besides, many pilgrims did not get enough water. Due to this, they fell ill and died in the open field.
