The sensational incident happened on Wednesday (September 18), BBC reported.

According to the BBC report, an SAS flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Copenhagen, Denmark after encountering a rat problem en route from Oslo, Norway to Malaga, Spain.

SAS Airlines spokesman Oystein Schmidt said the decision to make an emergency landing was made because the rat could pose a security risk to the aircraft. The passengers were later transferred to Malaga on a different flight.

The BBC says the incident was handled very carefully and there were no untoward incidents. However, the flight was diverted and took several hours to reach the destination.
