UGDP distributes humanitarian assistance to flood victims

ZOOMBANGLA DESK : A team of the Upazila Governance and Development Project (UGDP) implemented by the Local Government Division on Saturday distributed humanitarian assistance to the victims of the flash floods.

This humanitarian assistance program is implemented with the financial support of the Project Officers (UDF). The support program was conducted among 160 families of Majhipara village of Jagatpur village of Sadar union of Burichong upazila and Bakshimul village of Bakshimul union. The gifts included rice, dal, oil, sugar, salt, onion, garlic, chilli, turmeric, mosquito coil etc.

In the presence of Burichong Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sahida Akhter, these materials were given to the affected families. The Upazila Nirbahi Officer expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to the UGDP project officials for standing by the affected people of his upazila.

The relief program was implemented under the leadership of Burichong Upazila UDF Mohammad Shafi Ullah. Raihan Kabir Palash, Zahidul Islam, Rizwan Ahmed, Sohail Rana, Abu Bakar Siddique and Md. Ismail Hossain was present among other colleagues.
