Shakib Al Hasan has faced many controversies and criticisms in his career. However, Tiger this all-rounder never had to stand in court as a defendant in a criminal case. Recently it has been associated with the name of the star cricketer.

The name of this member of parliament who was elected on the Awami League ticket from Magura-1 constituency in the last 12th National Parliament election has come up as an accused in the murder case of a garment worker who was killed in the student-mass movement in Bangladesh in July-August.

Shakib's cricketing future remains in doubt after being accused in a murder case. Tiger is an all-rounder who is currently with the team in India. But will Shakib play in the test series against South Africa at home next month? BCB cricket operations manager Shahriar Nafees assured that Shakib will not be harassed unnecessarily!

Nafees said while facing the media yesterday, "The Honorable Chief Adviser, Legal Adviser and Sports Adviser have very clearly said... the clear message from the Bangladesh government is that no one will be harassed unfairly in the cases that have taken place." We think the interim government has made its position clear on Shakib. I don't see any reason for Shakib not to play the home series till now unless there are injury and selection related issues.'

In that case, there is no obstacle for Shakib to play in the upcoming series on the country's soil. Nafees also said, 'The advisers have clearly expressed their and the government's attitude. I see no doubt.'

Nafees sees no reason for Shakib not playing in the South Africa series. He said, 'I personally don't see any reason for Shakib not playing in the home series in Bangladesh so far, unless there is an injury problem and there is no selection (not being in the team) issue.'
