At the same time, the speed of mobile internet has also increased slightly. However, it did not change the ranking. Bangladesh is at 89th position in mobile internet speed in August as in July.

Okla publishes a report called Speed Test Global Index every month highlighting how the internet speed is in different countries of the world. This information is known from the last August report of the company.

According to data from Okla, the average download speed of the four mobile operator companies active in the country in July was 27.08 Mbps. And in August the speed increased slightly to 27.76 Mbps. The upload speed at the same time was 11.22 Mbps. And the median latency was 25 milliseconds.

Analyzing the data of Okla, it can be seen that the speed index of mobile internet started moving from April this year. After being at the 112th position in March, Bangladesh moved up to the 110th position in April. Then in May, Bangladesh rose to 109th position and lastly in June, it jumped to 90th position.

Meanwhile, download speed on broadband internet in the country was 48.14 Mbps in August. And the upload speed was 47.31 Mbps. Median latency on broadband internet was 5 milliseconds.

In the last six months, the position of Bangladesh in the index of broadband internet compared to mobile internet has been seen to be somewhat stable. In the Broadband Internet Speed Index, Bangladesh fell from 106th position in April to 108th position in May. After that, it jumped to the 100th position. After taking one step back in July, Bangladesh again moved two steps forward in August.

Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) President Imdadul Haque said that more work needs to be done on the transmission network to increase the speed and improve the ranking. I hope the work will go ahead quickly under the guidance of the interim government advisor.

Golam Razzak, director of the engineering and operations department of the company, said that BTRC is always working to increase the speed of the Internet. He said, we look at the Okler index. There are many factors or indicators. Various initiatives and supervision of BTRC are working to increase the quality of service. We hope that this situation will improve in the coming days.
