Woman killed in bus crush in Gazipur, three buses caught fire in news

Own Correspondent, Gazipur: A woman was killed and another person was injured in a bus crash in Bord Bazar area under Gacha police station of Gazipur city. Agitated people set fire to a bus of 'Ujan Bhati' transport. They beat up the bus driver and helper. Later, the fire service rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter at 11:30 pm on Monday (September 23). Ibrahim Hossain. Earlier on the same day at around 9 o'clock, an accident occurred in Board Bazar area of Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.

The identity of the injured and the deceased was not immediately available.
He said that after a woman was killed by a bus, the locals seized the bus and set it on fire. At that time, the excited crowd beat the bus driver and helper. On receiving the information, the police went to the spot and controlled the situation. The dead body has been recovered. The injured driver and helper were admitted to a local hospital. The traffic police officer also said that the situation is normal now.

Locals said that a bus of Uzan Bhati Paribahan was going from Gazipur to Dhaka around 9:30 pm on Monday. The bus crushed a woman and a man in Board Bazar area. The woman died on the spot. The locals sent the injured person to the hospital. Later they set fire to the bus. On receiving the information, the fire service reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Traffic on the road is temporarily closed.
