It is known that the government has decided to strictly implement the activities of banning production, storage, transportation, marketing and use of banned polyethylene and polypropylene shopping bags. As a part of this, polythene bags are going to be banned in supershops from October 1 and raw markets from November 1. Jute, cloth and paper bags will be used as alternatives.
Earlier, Syeda Rizwana Hasan said in a meeting in the meeting room of the ministry on September 9, that from October 1, no type of polyethylene or polypropylene bags can be kept in supershops. Even buyers cannot be given such bags. However, jute and cloth bags will be kept as an alternative.
