Death toll rises to 492 in Israel attack in Lebanon

International Desk: Israel has carried out massive airstrikes in Lebanon. On Monday, 492 people, including at least 35 children, were killed in the attacks targeting about 300 positions of Hezbollah. Thousands more people were injured. Lebanon's Ministry of Health reported this information.

The Israeli military has told Lebanese residents to evacuate areas where Hezbollah is active, Al-Jazeera reports.

According to the report of CNN, the attack was carried out at 9:30 am local time. It was unclear how many of the casualties were civilians or Hezbollah. However, several residential areas were reported to have been attacked.

In a video released on Monday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said, 'We have intensified our attacks in Lebanon. The attacks will continue until the goal of sending the residents of southern Israel safely to their homes is achieved.'

In a post on social media X, Israeli army spokesman Avichei Adrei said the attack targeted more than 300 positions of Hezbollah. Residents were earlier warned of airstrikes on these homes in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Hizbullah said to respond to this attack by Israel. The Lebanese armed group reported rocket attacks on various military posts in Israel.
