Jumbangla Desk: Junaid Islam Ratul (12), a school student who was seriously injured in the police firing in Bogra during the anti-discrimination student movement, died.

He died on Monday (September 23) morning at Neuro Science Hospital in Dhaka.

Ratul Bogra, grocery store in Ghonpara area. Son of Ziaur Rahman. He was a 6th standard student of Bogra Path Public School.

Confirming the death of Ratul, his father Ziaur Rahman said that after hearing the news of Sheikh Hasina resigning and fleeing the country on August 5, Ratul left home to join the joyous procession with the neighborhood boys. After 4 pm, when the procession went towards Bogra Sadar police station, Ratul was shot in the head by the police. Later he was rescued and quickly admitted to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical Hospital. After two days of treatment there, if his condition did not improve, he was admitted to the capital's Neuroscience Hospital. After about 1 month and 20 days, all the efforts of the doctors failed, Ratul died in the hospital on Monday morning.


He also said that after 12 noon Ratul's body was taken from the hospital to the central Shaheed Minar square of the capital for janaza. After the funeral there, the family left for Bogra with Ratul's body. He was buried after the second funeral in his own area.
