Jumbangla Desk: The Ministry of Health has published the list of martyrs in the uprising of the student population centered on the anti-discrimination student movement. Initially, the identity of 708 martyrs has been collected in the list. It is reported that it may increase later.

This information was informed in a public notice signed by Umm Habiba, Deputy Secretary of the Health Services Department of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday (September 24).

It has been said that the draft list of names of martyrs in the anti-discrimination student movement in July-August (2024) collected from various public and private hospitals and district level student uprising is on the website of Health Services Department of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (www.hsd.gov.bd). And published on the website of the Department of Health (www.dghs.gov.bd). The list published on the website will be open to public from 23 September to 06 October for correction/addition of information.

Family members/heirs/representatives of martyrs are requested to verify/correct/complete. If there is any opinion, suggestion and any new data to be added regarding the published list, it is requested to inform the concerned hospital or the nearest government hospital.

To correct the information in the published list, the following steps should be taken:

(a) Family members/heirs/representatives of martyrs should register with National Identity Card (NID)/birth certificate and mobile number.

(b) After registration the details of the martyr should be downloaded and printed.

(c) Blank spaces on the printed paper should be filled.

(d) The concerned institution will assist in correcting the information after going to the concerned hospital or the nearest government hospital with the filled information.

(e) The person in charge of the institution shall update the information online by submitting the form filled by the family member/heir/representative of the martyr.

(f) The submitted information can be re-verified by accessing the website whether it has been properly entered or corrected.

The public notice also said that if any name of the martyrs of the recent anti-discrimination student movement is not included in this list, then the family members/heirs/representatives of the martyrs should contact the concerned Deputy Commissioner/Civil Surgeon/Upzilla Executive Officer/Upzilla Health and Family Planning Officer with suitable evidence.
