Jumbangla Desk: The High Court has ordered the government to take measures to protect all the shrines of the country. Besides, the High Court has issued a ruling seeking to know why the government's failure to protect the shrine should not be declared illegal.

Jumbangla Desk: The High Court has ordered the government to take measures to protect all the shrines of the country. Besides, the High Court has issued a ruling seeking to know why the government's failure to protect the shrine should not be declared illegal.

The High Court bench comprising of Justice Kamrul Hossain Mollah and Justice Zeenat Haque gave this order after hearing an application in this regard on Tuesday (September 24).

The Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Public Administration and Cultural Affairs and the Waqf Administrator have been asked to respond to the ruling.

Taufiq Sajwar Parth heard the writ petition in court today.


Supreme Court lawyer Shah Alam Alvi filed the public interest writ on September 10. The writ petitioner claims that around 69 shrines have been demolished so far.

Students demand separate list of half fare


Earlier, the Ministry of Religious Affairs had directed the District Commissioners (DCs) to take measures to maintain peace and order at the shrine on September 15.
