Allotment of 1 kg dal for 100 prisoners: Inspector General of Prisons

Jumbangla Desk: In order to increase the availability of spices in the daily regular meals of the prisoners, instructions have been given to follow the circular regarding savings of 1 kg pulses for every 100 prisoners.

Apart from this, no deductions or savings can be made for other food items. Legal action will be taken against the concerned person if any kind of deviation is observed in this regard.

Apart from the daily allowance of food, an additional 150 taka is specially allotted to each prisoner on the occasion of any special, religious or national day. Food is served to the prisoners on the special day by adding that 150 taka to the food normally received by the prisoner on the said day.

In this case, the fish, meat, pulses, vegetables or any other food items received by the prisoners on the days preceding the special day shall not be deducted for the special day. Legal action will be taken against the person responsible if any violation is observed.
